Raster – Exhibition System
Infos
Fictional demo project: a concept study, not a commission and not built. The photos are Unsplash reference images, not work by Studio Alibi. Raster imagines a touring display system for small sculpture shows that has to work in two very different rooms: a classical hall with coloured walls and parquet, and a dark black box. The study proposes one grid of 60-centimetre timber frames that can stand as freestanding plinths, stack into shelving niches or close into a backlit wall with opal diffuser panels. Steel base plates and a single bolt type keep set-up quick for a small crew. The reference photos show the two atmospheres the system is measured against, and the kind of workshop in which prototypes would be cut and assembled. Scope: concept, modular system design, prototype planning Material: birch plywood frames, opal acrylic diffusers, powder-coated steel base plates Planned output: system drawings, cutting list, one full-size test module
